Visit Winston-Salem, the convention and visitors bureau for Winston-Salem/Forsyth County, serves as the official sales and marketing agency promoting tourism to the area. Its staff is charged with developing and implementing programs that positively position the Greater Winston-Salem area as a desirable destination for meetings, conventions, sporting events and both business and leisure travelers.
Visit Winston-Salem is a not-for-profit 501-C-3 organization who is primarily funded through the hotel bed tax collected in Forsyth County. Specifically, the tax is a six percent hotel occupancy paid by visitors.
The CVB has four departments -- adminstration, convention sales and services, marketing and communications and visitor information services. The CVB offices are also home to the Winston-Salem Visitor Center which is open Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and open seasonally on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Visit Winston-Salem publishes the annual Official Winston-Salem Visitor & Relocation Guide that is a comprehensive reference showcasing our hotels, attractions and calendar of events and festivals. More than 100,000 copies of this Guide are distributed to key welcome centers throughout North Carolina, the Southeast and in the Visit North Carolina’s international offices in the U.K., Germany and Canada. Too, our sales and marketing team takes these comprehensive 62-page guides on the road to share with customers and prospective clients at trade shows and on direct sales calls.
