October 1- December 14
"Dias de los Muertos" (Days of the Dead), 10am-4:30pm - Monday–Saturday. Museum of Anthropology, 1834 Wake Forest Road, Winston-Salem. The exhibit will feature a traditional Mexican "ofrenda," a home altar with sugar skulls, colorful tissue paper cutouts of skeletons, food and beverage offerings, marigolds and photos of deceased relatives. The "Days of the Dead," an ancient religious celebration that originally honored children and the dead, has evolved into a blend of ancient Indian and Christian features. November 1 - December 31
Holiday Season, All day. Old Salem Museums & Gardens, 900 Old Salem Road, Winston-Salem. Celebrate the holiday season by experiencing the traditions of the Moravian's of Salem and those living across the early South. November 10, 2007 - January 1, 2008
Tanglewood Festival of Lights, 6-11pm. Tanglewood Park, 4061 Clemmons Road (from I-40 take Hwy. 158 West), Clemmons. Experience the Southeast’s largest holiday light show featuring more than one million lights and 180 displays, 72 of which are animated. Imagine Christmas Holiday Performance, 7:30pm. First Presbyterian Church, 300 North Cherry Street, Winston-Salem. Imagine Christmas, a Christmas story which gives people a closer look at the first Christmas night and the birth of Jesus. Attend this creative performance full of interpretive dance, classic Christmas songs, beautiful instrumentals and humorous “angels.” Imagine Christmas will shed fresh light on that familiar story of Christmas. Carolina Brass Concert, 8pm. A Tuna Christmas-A Theatre Alliance Play, 8pm - Friday-Saturday; 2pm - Sunday. SECCA Auditorium, 750 Marguerite Drive, Winston-Salem. Come spend the holidays with the citizens of Tuna, Texas, Texas’ third smallest town, where the Lion’s Club is too liberal and Patsy Cline never dies. It’s 24 hours before Christmas and all comic heck is about to break loose as the delightfully eccentric characters attempt to cope with seasonal traumas such as a disaster prone little theatre production of A Christmas Carol, and a yard decorating contest that is being sabotaged by a mysterious Christmas phantom. Frank Spencer National Holiday Classic, Times Vary. Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum, 2825 University Parkway, Winston-Salem. The Frank Spencer National Holiday Classic has evolved over 32 years into a national basketball tournament including prominent high school teams and players from across the United States. Christmas Bird Count, 8am. Forsyth County, multiple locations. Forsyth Audubon will conduct The Christmas Bird Count on December 29, beginning early in the morning at various sites throughout Forsyth County. This will be the 108th year that Audubon has sponsored the CBC. Data is compiled to track bird populations throughout the country as birds respond to climate and environmental changes. Watch Night Lovefeast Service, 11pm. Trinity Moravian Church, 220 E Sprague Street, Winston-Salem.  This service gives thanks for blessings during the previous year and asks for protection for the coming year.
