Winston-Salem has strategically configured a series of sports venues in one convenient location. Baseball, football, basketball and soccer facilities are all clustered around the Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum (LJVM) and the Dixie Classic Fairgrounds.

Winston-Salem Entertainment-Sports Complex
The Winston-Salem Entertainment-Sports Complex consists of:

  • The Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum: a 15,000-seat arena, home of Wake Forest University, and host of Winston-Salem State University basketball games
  • The Joel Theatre: 5,600-seat theater, offers an intimate venue for concerts, plays, readings, lectures and more
  • The Coliseum Annex: 3,500-seat arena with 30,000 square feet of exhibit space, which can be adapted for basketball, ice hockey and other sports
  • The Education Building: 30,000 square feet of exhibit space

BB&T Soccer Complex
The Twin City Youth Soccer Complex consists of:

  • 14 beautiful, Bermuda fields along the Yadkin River
  • 5,800 square foot fieldhouse with mult-media classroom/meeting room that seats 140, team classroom for watching videos, restrooms, concession rooms, training/medical room, locker rooms with shower and offices
  • Wireless Internet throughout the facility
  • Picnic shelter with wireless Internet, outdoor grill/fireplace
  • Two walking/running paths: A one mile path and a three mile path
  • Filming tower for videoing games or training sessions
  • Stadium field with seating for 1,400 and hillside seating for an additional 1,000
  • Two additional fields with tiered hillside seating
  • Plenty of convenient parking
  • Water stations throughout
  • Outdoor misting stations during hot weather

Ernie Shore Field
Ernie Shore Field is a 6,200-seat baseball stadium, which can accommodate up to 10,200 for concerts and special events. It is the home of the Carolina League (Class A) Winston-Salem Warthogs and part of the Winston-Salem Entertainment-Sports Complex and adjacent to LJVM.


Bowman Gray Stadium
Bowman Gray Stadium is a 17,000-seat stadium, which can seat up to 28,000 for concerts and special events. It is the home of NASCAR's Dodge Weekly Series, held Saturday nights from May through August on the flat, quarter-mile oval. Bowman Gray was the home to some of the earliest heroes in NASCAR. From 1958 to 1971, this asphalt track hosted 28 events in NASCAR's premier series. The Dodge Weekly Series, a NASCAR-sanctioned event, remains the featured division. Other divisions running include modified, sportsman, street stock and stadium stock.

Bowman Gray Stadium is the home field of Winston-Salem State University football.


BB&T Field
BB&T Field is a 31,500-seat stadium, home of Wake Forest University football. It is part of the Winston-Salem Entertainment-Sports Complex and adjacent to LJVM.
