Salem Band will perform its annual Winter Concert on February 19th in Hanes Auditorium. This exciting program includes Blaze the Trail by Lisa Galvin, Percy Grainger’s Molly on the Shore, jazz standard Birdland, Ken Burns’ documentary music, Ashokan Farewell, and classic wind band compositions by Clifton Williams and John Zdechlik. Other works include the fun and unusual Minor Alterations No.2: Carols from the Dark Side; and Cripple Creek from the Southern Mountains from the Moravian Music Foundation archives, by NC composer Lamar Stringfield. Salem Band’s Guest Artist for this program is local bass-baritone and UNCSA graduate Leonard Rowe, who will sing a Mozart aria with the band. This concert is generously supported by a grant from The Arts Council of Winston-Salem Forsyth County.
FREE in Hanes Auditorium, Elberson Fine Arts Center, on the campus of Salem Academy and College.
