Maple Chase Golf and Country Club has a 60 year history in Winston-Salem. In the 1950s, a group of local golfers decided to explore opening a new country club. The group formed a Board of Directors and hired Golf Professional Ellis Maples to consult on the purchase 300 acres of land from the “Cox Farm” off Germanton Road, which eventually formed Pine Brook Country Club. The front nine holes were built on Cox Farm pasture lands and the back nine were built on a heavily-wooded parcel. On May 14, 1955, the course was opened for play.
