About

1 LOVE FESTIVAL: Culture, Creativity, and Community Returns to Winston-Salem

There are festivals you attend, and then there are experiences that invite you to belong. The 1 LOVE FESTIVAL, now celebrating its sixth year, is the latter.

From June 25–27, 2026, Winston-Salem and the surrounding Triad area will once again become a gathering ground for culture, creativity, and community rooted deeply in the richness of the African Diaspora and alive with imagination, artistry, and collective joy.

What began as a vibrant local gathering has grown into a powerful cultural experience, one that honors the fullness of Black life through music, visual art, innovation, wellness, and entrepreneurship. Each year, the festival creates space not just for celebration, but for connection. Relationships are forged here. Perspectives are expanded here. And for many, something shifts—something that stays long after the weekend ends.

At the heart of this year’s festival is a deepened commitment to what we call Kindred Abundance—a way of being together that centers reciprocity, care, and shared flourishing. This vision comes to life through the Restorying Institute, a dynamic, multi-day gathering that takes place alongside the festival. The Institute is free and open to the public, but registration is required for each day you plan to attend. It offers participants an opportunity to engage in meaningful dialogue, collaborative learning, and imaginative practices that help us rethink how we live, lead, and build together.

And then there’s the music.

On Friday, June 26, the energy of the festival culminates in a live concert experience at The Ramkat—one of Winston-Salem’s most beloved venues. Doors open at 7:00 PM for an unforgettable evening featuring the soulful sounds of Nailah Porter and the dynamic artistry of Joshuah Brian Campbell with Solomon Fox and Friends. It’s more than a concert—it’s a sonic gathering, a celebration of sound as story, resistance, and joy.

Whether you are local to the Triad or traveling in, the 1 LOVE FESTIVAL offers something rare: a space where culture is not consumed, but cultivated; where community is not assumed, but practiced.
