About

Sawtooth School for Visual Art is proud to present A Year in the Making: Sawtooth’s 2024-2025 Artists-in-Residence, an exhibition celebrating the school’s four Artists-in-Residence and showcasing the work they completed during their time in this program.

The school’s Ceramic Artists-in-Residence are A.C. Bell (Asheville, NC), Casper Clifford (Woodbury, NY), and Eamon Rogers (Star, NC). The Gondring Resident in Woodworking is Ella Coyne (Winston-Salem, NC).

An opening reception will be held on Friday, September 5, 4 – 6 pm. This event is free and open to the public.

For 80 years, Sawtooth School for Visual Art has been a creative hub for the region—an energetic craft school environment in downtown Winston-Salem, NC. Their year-long Artist-in-Residence programs encourage emerging artists to develop new skills, foster community connections, and create new bodies of work while assisting with studio operations. Residents are offered round-the-clock studio access and the time to focus intensely on their practice, explore new ideas and techniques, and push their work to new levels. Sawtooth’s residencies prioritize self-exploration and personal growth while also providing support for professional development, including possible teaching and exhibition opportunities. Past residents have advanced to prestigious graduate schools, joined other esteemed residencies, and become knowledgeable and valued members of their creative communities.

The exhibition will be on view from Saturday, September 6, 2025, to Saturday, November 1, 2025. Gallery hours are Mon.–Fri. 9 am–7 pm and Sat. 9 am–4 pm. Information about each resident and their respective presentations is available on Sawtooth's website. Hope to see you there!
