Springing from a 2024 collaboration that produced the documentary We Are, Because We Were directed by Rodney Wilds, this video installation features the many stories found in the treasures of the Winston-Salem African American Archives. The installation honors the resilience, innovation, and enduring contributions of African Americans in Winston-Salem, celebrating the people, places, and movements that shaped the city’s past and continue to inspire its future.
Free and open to the public.
