Johann Friedrich Peter's Psalm of Joy (1783) offers a clear glimpse into how the Moravian composers brought European Classical style to an Amerian setting. 

Join us on America's 250th birthday for a special performance of one of our first American anthems. After the Revolutionary War, the Moravians found themselves as citizens of a brand-new nation. They marked the moment the way they always had – through music. 

Performance by the Moramus Chorale with accompaniment by Mary Lou Kapp Peeples and directed by Amanda Moody-Schumpert.
