The Katharine is offering special Summer of Soccer features on the restaurant’s drink and bar menus, including June’s cocktail for a cause—the Spicy Novara. A portion of the cocktail’s June sales will benefit the Carolina Core Football Academy—an organization committed to creating an equal playing field for children, regardless of their socioeconomic background—to chase their aspirations of a professional soccer career.


In addition, there is soccer themed décor throughout the restaurant and hotel as well as numerous television displays broadcasting the World Cup games, including a 75-inch television in The Kimpton’s living room area.


The Kimpton will host a Carolina Core Football Club watch party on June 20 for the Germany vs. Ivory Coast game. The event begins at 3 p.m. with a 4 p.m. kick-off. Those who want to attend the free party must register through the Carolina Core Football Club.
