About
Adagio Vineyards - Where Classical Music Meets Fine Wine
Adagio Vineyards is a boutique winery located in North Carolina’s Yadkin Valley, where classical music and winemaking blend in perfect harmony. The name Adagio, meaning “performed slowly and with passion,” reflects the thoughtful, artisanal approach taken by owners Jan and Tim Wahl in both their music and their wine.
The vineyard’s story began in 2006 with the clearing of the land. Grapevines were planted in 2009 and again in 2012, and by 2013, the music-inspired tasting room was completed. The winery officially opened to the public in May 2014.
Signature Wines include:
Vivace – A unique “orange” style Traminette, fermented on the skins for added complexity
Cabernet Franc – A bold, structured red with classic varietal character
Harmony – A rich red blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot
Coda – A semi-sweet Traminette, offering a lighter, fruit-forward finish
Grape Varieties Grown include:
Cabernet Franc
Merlot
Arandell
Chardonnay
Traminette
All wines produced by Adagio Vineyards have earned Silver Medals in the North Carolina Fine Wines Competition, recognizing their consistent quality and craftsmanship.
