Divine Llama Vineyards


Divine Llama Vineyards offers one of the most distinctive winery experiences in the Winston-Salem area, uniquely situated on the largest llama farm in the southeastern United States. Set on 91 scenic acres with views of Pilot Mountain, the property combines winemaking with agritourism in a relaxed, family-friendly environment.


Experience

Guests can enjoy wine by the glass or sample a variety through curated flights, available both inside the tasting room and at the outdoor bar. The expansive outdoor seating areas are especially popular in pleasant weather, often drawing large weekend crowds.


A signature feature of the property is the adjacent llama farm, where visitors can walk down to the fields to observe—and occasionally interact with—the llamas. If they approach the fence, guests may have the opportunity to pet them, adding to the winery’s unique charm.


Events & Activities

Divine Llama frequently hosts weekend food trucks, along with community-focused events such as 5Ks, craft fairs, and fundraisers. One of its most popular offerings is the Llama Trek, available most Saturdays and Sundays during spring, fall, and winter. This guided, approximately two-mile hike pairs guests with a llama and begins and ends near the tasting room. Reservations are required.


Amenities

The tasting room offers a selection of light snacks and branded merchandise. The property is kid-friendly, with a $10 fee for guests ages 4–20, and pet-friendly within the tasting room area.


History

Divine Llama Vineyards was established in 2007 when Michael and Patricia West planted the first vines on the property. In 2019, partners Leslie Messick and Paul Baumbach joined the venture, further expanding its offerings and experiences.
