Quick Breakfast and Brunch in Winston-Salem

Looking to fuel up fast? Get your breakfast and brunch on-the-go at these Winston-Salem standbys.

Picture it: you’ve arrived in Winston-Salem, everyone is hungry, and brunch is on your mind. When you don’t have time to sit down for a full meal, but you can’t bear the thought of another drive-thru, our locally owned, grab-and-go favorites come out on top. Here's where to find breakfast and brunch goodness on-the-go in Winston-Salem.

Krankies

Krankies Coffee

Eclectic, funky, and down-right delicious, Krankies Coffee has made a name for itself in Winston-Salem as much more than just a coffee shop. With coffee roasted in-house, unique coffee menu items, and a slate of delicious biscuits and morning-time treats, you’ll get a boost of energy with a side of Southern flare. The Krankies Classic Biscuit is a Winston-Salem staple, but the Dirty South- complete with bacon and pimento cheese- is another crowd-pleaser.

Acadia Foods

Part food counter, part grocery co-op, Acadia Foods is tucked into the charming Washington Park neighborhood. Serving breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner, you can stop by pretty much any time of day for a quick meal. Either pack it up to-go or grab a table and enjoy your brunch in-house. If the weather is nice, we recommend a table on the patio. The breakfast grilled cheese is a new twist on the classic, or you can go for nostalgic vibes with a fried bologna breakfast sandwich. Vegan and vegetarian options are also available!

Bagel Station

You know what they say: sometimes, the best spots are a hole in the wall. This is true with local favorite Bagel Station in the Stratford Road shopping area near Thruway Center. With a menu of classic New York-style bagels in an unassuming storefront, go for a classic bagel, egg and cheese sandwich and hit the road on your next Winston-Salem adventure! In addition to the original location, there's also Bagel Station II off Peacehaven Road in the Sherwood Forest area.

Bobby Boy Bakeshop

If you’re looking for something light yet indulgent, Bobby Boy Bakeshop is the spot for you. Choose from a wide selection of classic Viennoiserie (refers to breakfast pastries made in the style of Vienna, Austria) like buttery croissants, fresh bread, sweet Danishes, and indulgent pastries. Starting at 11 a.m. every day, you can also opt for a lunch sandwich or slice of fresh quiche. (Closed on Sundays)

Camino Bakery

With two downtown locations to choose from — the original Camino Bakery on Fourth Street and Camino Bakery Brookstown close to Old Salem — Camino Bakery is a classic coffee shop meets comforting bakery. With coffee staples and a rotating seasonal menu, you can get your cappuccino or nitro cold brew with a slice of seasonal quiche or freshly baked bagel (get the herb cream cheese, trust us). If you’re looking for a spot to sit, they have indoor and outdoor tables at both locations.

Village Juice & Kitchen

If you’re hunting for a morning boost from a nutritious smoothie or grain bowl, you’ll love the selection at Village Juice. A light and airy space filled with greenery and good vibes welcomes you (perfect for those grab & go mornings). Their menu is suitable for everyone- including children and those with dietary restrictions! All milk alternatives are made in-house, and you can customize your smoothie with a variety of functional add-ins like protein powder, bee pollen, and ashwagandha. Be sure to grab a fresh-pressed juice or kombucha for the road!
