About
What happens when two special collections of longtime residents of Winston-Salem—one of 1000+ camels, the other of classic model trains—come together under one roof? You get one of the most unexpected—and unforgettable—museum experiences you'll ever see! This holiday season, MUSE Winston-Salem invites you to CAMEL TRAIN: A POP-UP HOLIDAY EXTRAVAGANZA! From November 19th through January 3rd, see Carolyn Walker’s lifetime collection of camels (camel figurines of all sizes, lovingly gathered from around the world) and Rence Callahan’s S-scale model trains (a collection started in boyhood, now gliding along a new 200+ foot track layout), artfully displayed by artist Alex Robinson (artbyalexrobinson.com) in an immersive hol iday environment.
And where better for this bit of holiday magic to happen than Winston-Salem, a.k.a., “the Camel City,” and MUSE Winston-Salem, located on the historic property of the Winston-Salem Southbound Railway (the railway’s 1913 Freight Warehouse stands just outside MUSEws’ entrance)!
