About

A fierce and funny Pulitzer-finalist play about competitive middle school dancers navigating ambition and growing up.

Dance Nation is a jubilant and original play that is simultaneously funny, fierce, and unsettling. It delves into the terror and joy of growing up and the concept of ‘female perfectionism' through the lens of competitive dance. The play follows a group of wild and curious middle-schooler dancers who fiercely navigate the boundaries of adulthood, the world, and their own identities as they strive to win the Boogie Down Grand Prix in Tampa Bay.
