About
Sneak a glimpse inside a delicate family dynamic as laughter, longing and fleeting joy shape a summer that lingers in memory long after it ends. In a small village in 1930s Ireland, five sisters navigate family, responsibility and change. Their story unfolds through the memory of Michael, the young son of one of the sisters.
“Dancing at Lughnasa” captures moments of laughter, tension and longing as the sisters navigate poverty, responsibility and a yearning for freedom beyond their daily routines. Through Michael’s eyes, moments of daily life take on lasting meaning.
