This workshop is to commemorate the legacy of the 18th-century African American potter, Peter Oliver. Once an enslaved man, Peter Oliver worked under two Moravian master potters, Rudolph Christ and Gottfried Aust. After Peter Oliver mastered his skills in pottery, he was able to free himself from slavery later in life.

Through this workshop, each participant will learn to decorate a 7″ plate in the Moravian style through slip trailing and underglaze painting. (Ages 18+)
