About

Constitution Day and America 250 are connected through their celebration of the founding ideals of the United States. Together, they provide an opportunity to reflect on the nation’s history and the founding principles of freedom and democracy.

This Constitution Day, Reynolda is partnering with Wake Forest University School of Law to bring together students, faculty, and community members to reflect on the history and meaning of the U.S. Constitution.

From Protest to Precedent: Civil Rights and the Constitution brings together Wake Forest University Assistant Professor of Law Dr. Nathan Fleming in conversation with Dr. H. Timothy Lovelace, a noted legal historian from Duke University School of Law. This program will coincide with the opening of the exhibition, Flash Point: The Civil Rights Photography of Danny Lyon, at Reynolda House Museum of American Art, with a reception to follow.
