Author Terri Kirby Erickson and publisher Press 53 are hosting a book launch celebration for Erickson's eighth poetry collection, The Light That Follows Us Home, and will be donating 20% of each book sold at this event, which will take place on Saturday, October 10, at 3 pm at the beautiful Mary Alice Warren Community Center, 7632 Warren Park Drive, Lewisville, NC, to the American Brain Foundation. This organization funds research for multiple brain/neurological/movement diseases and conditions, including multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, autism, migraine, PTSD, and many others. Further donations on behalf of the ABF are encouraged if anyone is so inclined. 

There will be light refreshments, music by violist and producer Susan Terry (who has appeared onstage with Ray Charles and many others), as well as a poetry reading and book signing. Erickson's book cover features a painting by her uncle, famed NC artist Stephen White, whose work has been in MoMA. Terri Kirby Erickson's poetry has won multiple honors including the Annals of Internal Medicine Poetry Prize and International Book Award for Poetry, and has been published nationally and internationally in literary journals, anthologies, magazines, and newspapers.
