Prepare for a journey through uncharted musical galaxies as Vintage Astronaut takes the stage at Easy Tiger Beer Garden (2108 S Broad Street, Winston-Salem, NC). This isn’t just a gig—it’s an experiment in sound, time, and molecular rearrangement.
About the Band:
Hailing from the artistically fertile northern southeast region of the United States (yes, that’s a thing), Vintage Astronaut is a NC-based progressive jazz trio pioneering the use of computers and analog synthesizers in improv-based music. Born from a humble weekly jam session in Winston-Salem, they’ve evolved into a tightly knit crew, pushing the boundaries of jazz and electronic fusion with a high-energy, jaw-dropping experience that might just rearrange your molecular structure (for the better, of course).

John Daniel Ray – Bass, Electronics, and Revolutionary Low-Frequency Wizardry
Michael Kinchen – Synthesizers & Harmonic Alchemy
Jonathan Greene – Drums & Rhythmic Time-Bending (widely respected polyrhythm sorcerer)
Expect original progressive jazz compositions and spontaneous improvisations—no cover tunes, no musical safety nets. Just raw, boundary-pushing sound.
Time: 7–10 PM, because even astronauts need a bedtime.
