February is here, and Winston-Salem is turning up the heat with a packed calendar of can't-miss events!
From the high-octane excitement of the NASCAR Clash to thought-provoking art exhibits, jazz brunches, and breathtaking performances, there’s something to keep every kind of adventurer entertained. Whether you’re chasing the thrill of the racetrack, exploring the cultural scene, or savoring a romantic Valentine’s weekend, you’ll find plenty of reasons to get out and experience the city this month.

Feb. 1-2
The Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium. Winston-Salem will hold its first NASCAR race in over a half-century when The Clash heads to Bowman Gray Stadium. The exhibition race is the kickoff to NASCAR’s 2025 season ahead of the Daytona 500 and will be broadcast live on FOX. The event will feature two days of racing at Bowman Gray Stadium, highlighted by the Clash Madhouse Classic on Saturday afternoon (tickets still available) and The Clash main event Sunday evening (sold out). Feb. 1-23
Jolo Winery & Vineyards presents a Cuvee Tasting Experience. JOLO will offer this Cuvee Tasting Experience that will include a flight of five different wines with four food pairings. Seating will be eight people per table. If you want to sit with someone specific, please email [email protected] with your seating choices when you order your tickets. Seating will be pre-determined before you arrive. The menu will be posted prior to the event. JW and the chefs have pre-selected the food and wine to pair up perfectly for your Cuvee Experience. Feb 2.
The Clash at The Nash (various events). Set in the former Winston Cup Museum, downtown’s newest events center, The Nash, is welcoming the NASCAR Clash event with a number of events. Highlights include a free Cars and Coffee event Sunday morning featuring classic cars, food trucks, games, and music; and the Clash at the Nash Watch Party Sunday evening from 6-10 p.m. There will be other events opening at The Nash throughout the weekend. Feb. 3 (remains on display to May 18)
Internal Review: NCMA Staff Exhibition. A new exhibit opening at the North Carolina Museum of Art, Winston-Salem (formerly SECCA) highlights artistic works of dozens of NCMA team members. The exhibition spans genres and mediums, from works on paper to sculpture, from photography to music. An opening reception will be held Monday, Feb. 3 (5-8 p.m.) featuring live music by local acts including Vel Indica. The exhibit remains on display through May 18 and is included with admission to NCMA ($8 adults, $6 students, seniors, military, free for kids 17 and under).
Feb. 7-8
CINCH World’s Toughest Rodeo. Family-friendly and fast-paced, CINCH is the standard-setter when it comes to rodeos across the globe, providing the ultimate fan experience. The rodeo features Bareback Riding, Saddle Bronc Riding, Bull Riding, Barrel Racing, and more. Both Friday and Saturday's events will be held at LJVM Coliseum starting at 7:30 p.m. Tickets start at $27.
Feb. 7
Valentine's at Kaleideum. Bring the family for a lovely family-friendly evening at Kaleideum! Featuring dancing in the Digital Dome and Valentine’s games, crafts, and scavenger hunt, if you are looking for a unique Valentine's Day experience for your littles, this is the place! Take your picture with Valentine props in the photo booth and enjoy delectable desserts and a hot chocolate bar! Tickets are $10 for members and $15 for non-members and can be purchased here.
Feb. 8
Kaleideum After Dark: Mad Mixtures. Kaleideum is stirring up science with spirits, playing with non-Newtonian fluids, and teaching you to make your own slime during this hands-on 21+ event that is delightfully entertaining. Spirits will be served (two drink vouchers are included in your ticket), music + entertainment will be provided by DJ Heck Yeah, and don't forget to stop by for karaoke in The Dome!
Feb. 8
Cirque de la Symphonie by Winston-Salem Symphony. The high-flying acrobatics of audience favorite Cirque de la Symphonie will keep you on the edge of your seat! Combining popular classical music with soaring flight, tumbling, and juggling, Cirque thrills audiences around the world. Don’t miss this one-night-only engagement with your Winston-Salem Symphony! Feb. 9
Camel City Craft Fair: Love Mart. The second Saturday of every month, Camel City Craft Fair takes over the Foothills Brewery Tasting Room for an artisan market like no other. Discover handmade gifts, art, and more showcased from local artisans and artists. This month's theme is all about love, so stop by for the perfect gift for someone you love, or practice self-love and find something for yourself!
Feb. 13-16
Haze Gray Vineyards Red Wine Flight and BonBon Pairing. For a 4th year, Haze Gray Vineyards has partnered with Brasstown Chocolates to pair their bonbons with 5 of our red wines. The Red Wine with Chocolate Pairing will be offered all weekend long. The price is $28 per person or $50 per couple. This Red Wine Flight includes a pairing of 5 HGV red wines paired specifically with Brasstown’s bonbons. The flight includes 5 two-ounce pours, 5 bonbons and a red wine crystal glass. Feb. 14-15
Celebrate Love at Shelton Vineyards. This Valentine’s season, let Shelton Vineyards set the stage for unforgettable moments with the one you love. Begin your experience with exclusive wine tastings and romantic vineyard tours, where every sip tells a story and every view inspires connection. Next, indulge in a special Valentine’s menu at Harvest Grill, where thoughtfully crafted dishes and award-winning wines create the perfect pairing for a memorable meal. The experience starts at 2 p.m. on Feb. 14 and 4 p.m., Feb. 15.
Feb. 14-16, 20-23
"Ma Rainey's Black Bottom" by August Wilson. To celebrate Black History Month, the Little Theatre of Winston-Salem presents this award-winning production by August Wilson written in 1982 and popularized in the 2020 Netflix film starring Viola Davis. Set in a recording studio in 1920s Chicago, it deals with issues of race, art, exploitation, and religion. All shows will be at Hanesbrands Theatre (209 N. Spruce Street). Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 3 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets start at $19 and are available online here.
Feb 15 (on display through May 25)
Reynolda Exhibit Opening: Andrew Wyeth at Kuerner Farm. Reynolda's spring exhibit spotlights works from one of the most popular American artists of the 20th century, Andrew Wyeth. The exhibit makes it national debut at Reynolda beginning with a public opening on Feb. 15. It will remain on display daily until May 25. Titled "Andrew Wyeth at Kuerner Farm: The Eye of the Earth," it features a series of rarely-seen Wyeth paintings depicting a farm in his hometown of Chadds Ford, PA. Admission is included with entrance to Reynolda House Museum of American Art; $18 adults; free from children, college students, teachers, veterans, and more. Feb. 15
Music in the Vineyard: Allyn Raney. Relax and enjoy the afternoon in the heated enclosed tasting room and listen to the acoustic musical talents of Allyn Raney at Junius Lindsay Vineyard. Come enjoy the music and the memories! And some memorable Junius Lindsay wine!
Feb. 15
Raffaldini Vineyards presents Four Seasons Winter Wine Dinner. The Four Seasons Wine Tasting Dinners are held Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter and are hosted by Jay Raffaldini. Each dinner features four seasonal food courses and four specially chosen wines to complement the food. Culinary and wine descriptions will be given during the evening to enhance your enjoyment. This is an opportunity to share your food and wine passion with like-minded friends. The atmosphere will be relaxed and casual with a focus on meeting new friends and enjoying la dolce vita.
Feb. 15
Camel City Jazz Orchestra Presents Big Band Brunch. 11 a.m. Celebrate Valentine's weekend with a jazz brunch featuring the classic sounds of Camel City Jazz Orchestra. Admission starts at $70 and includes a full brunch buffet, music, and more. A full bar serving Mimosas, Bloody Mary's, specialty coffee drinks, and other beverages will also be available. The event will be at the Millennium Center downtown (101 W. Fifth St.)

Feb. 20-23
UNCSA’S Winter Dance Concert. This thrilling program features UNC School of the Arts students from both the contemporary and ballet programs performing works that highlight the breadth of the dance community. There will be a total of six performances from Feb. 20-23, including two matinee performances at 2 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday (Feb. 22-23). All other shows begin at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $25 adults, $20 students. All shows will be held at Freedman Theatre on the UNCSA campus (1533 S. Main Street).
Feb. 21-22
Magnolia Shoebox Lunch N Learn & Traveling While Black Immersive Experience. Join us for a Cinematic Virtual Reality Experience that immerses the viewer in the long history of restriction of movement for Black Americans and the creation of safe spaces in our communities. Ideal for individuals, schools and families, this immersive journey celebrates Black resilience and creativity. The exhibit highlights the struggles and triumphs of Black travelers during Jim Crow, featuring landmarks like Ben’s Chili Bowl in D.C., The Historic Magnolia House in Greensboro, NC, Union Station: Winston-Salem, NC, and the Green Book.
Feb. 28-March 16
NC Black Rep presents "Fences." The North Carolina Black Repertory company presents the Pulitzer Prize-winning drama by famed playwright August Wilson. Set in Pittsburgh in the 1950s, the story centers on a 53-year-old garbage man who once a starred in the Negro baseball leagues. All shows will be at Hanesbrands Theatre (209 N. Spruce Street). There will be 11 performances total spread across three weekends with evening shows at 7:30 p.m. and matinees at 2 p.m. Tickets are $30-$35.
Throughout the Month (various dates)
Ice Skating at the Fairgrounds. February features over a dozen public ice skating sessions at the Winston-Salem Fairgrounds Arena, including weekend sessions on Feb 1-2, 8, and 22-23. Several sessions are also scheduled during the week with times varying by date. Admission is $10; skate rentals are $3. See all dates and times on the Fairgrounds website here.
Carolina Thunderbirds Hockey (Fridays and Saturdays). The Carolina Thunderbirds, Winston-Salem's hometown hockey team, will play four home games this month at the Winston-Salem Fairgrounds Arena. Games include a matchup against the Blue Ridge Bobcats (Feb. 1) followed by a three-game homestand Feb. 20-22. Most games start at 7:30 p.m. (The Feb. 21 game begins at 6:30). Concerts at the Ramkat. Downtown’s biggest music venue will feature a number of regional and national headliners this month. Big-ticket shows include famed tribute band Nirvani (Feb. 7), popular indie rockers Moon Taxi (Feb. 8), local luminary Jeffrey Dean Foster (Feb. 15), fan-favorite Corey Smith (Feb. 21), and country music icon Marty Stuart (Feb. 27). The venue will also host its annual Cash Bash, a multi-band tribute to Johnny Cash (Feb. 22). See all upcoming shows and purchase tickets on the Ramkat's events page here.
Taste of Art at Sawtooth. These popular one-night workshops let guests spend a few hours creating a work-of-art to take home in various mediums, including glass, ceramics, jewelry, fibers, and more. Multiple classes are scheduled every Friday in February, all taught by local artists, and several Saturday workshops are also planned. Among this month's offerings is Couples Date on the Wheel (Feb. 15), a Valentine-themed ceramics class inspired by the movie Ghost. Most Taste of Art classes are held at the Sawtooth School downtown (251 N. Spruce Street), though some weekday classes are at Sawtooth's secondary studio at The Generations Center (114 W. 30th Street). Wake Forest basketball. The Demon Deacons will play several exciting games at the LJVM Coliseum this month, including matchups against ACC rivals Pittsburgh (Feb. 1), Florida State (Feb. 12), and Virginia (Feb. 26). For tickets, go to the WFU ticketing website here.
WSSU basketball. The Rams continue will play several home games at the on-campus C.E. Gaines Center. Matchups include Bowie State (Feb. 3), Johnson C. Smith (Feb. 11), Shaw University (Feb. 20). and the home season finale against Livingstone College (Feb. 22), when WSSU will celebrate the 25th anniversary of its 2000 CIAA Championship.
