Free Gym Access for Visiting Media
Temporary YMCA gym memberships are available to international media guests. Here's how to get access:
Want to stay active during your visit? While you're in Winston-Salem to cover the World Cup, you can use our local YMCA branches for free. The YMCA is offering a free temporary membership to all credentialed media for the length of their stay. There are several locations in the greater Winston-Salem area, a few of them just minutes from downtown and the Wake Forest campus.
How Do I Sign Up?
- To get started, email [email protected] and tell them you're interested
- Attach a photo of your media credentials or a photo ID.
- The YMCA team will set up your free membership from there.
What Facilities Are Nearby?
There are six YMCA facilities in the greater Winston-Salem region, but two are particularly convenient options for media guests covering Team Germany. Those include:

5 minutes from downtown ·• 10 minutes from Wake Forest campus
• Indoor Olympic-sized pool, sauna, and steam room.
• Full-size basketball, racquetball, and squash courts
• Several workout areas, an indoor track, and group fitness classes
►Robinhood Road YMCA

• Covered outdoor pickleball courts
