The Bookhouse is the realization of a lifelong dream for sisters Tara and Meghan, both avid readers passionate about promoting literacy and fostering a love of reading. While The Bookhouse is primarily a bookstore, it was created to be much more—a welcoming community space where people can relax, enjoy a hot beverage, a glass of wine, or a beer, and engage in conversations about their favorite books.


Although neither sister originally hails from Winston-Salem, both found their way to the city and quickly fell in love with its vibrant culture. They are thrilled to bring their dream to life and share it with the community, offering a cozy gathering place for readers and book lovers alike.
