Do It All at Tanglewood
Best known for its dazzling Festival of Lights, Clemmons’ 1,100-acre Tanglewood Park is a year-round destination. Walk or bike along the paved greenway, explore the Arboretum’s 26 themed gardens, or tee off on one of two par-72 courses. The Championship Course hosted the 1974 PGA Championship, while the Reynolds Course winds through wooded terrain.

Not a golfer? Try Softgolf, a glow-in-the-dark nine-hole experience with oversized clubs and foam balls, or enjoy the scenic Par 3 course. In summer, cool off at the Aquatic Center, featuring waterslides, a lazy river, and splash pad. Fish or pedal-boat at Mallard Lake, ride horseback from Tanglewood Stables, or stay overnight at the Manor House or RV campground. It’s easy to spend an entire weekend here. See our Guide to Tanglewood Park for more.

Bring Your Clubs
Western Forsyth County is a golfer’s haven, with multiple courses designed by some of the sport's biggest names. In addition to Tanglewood Park’s two courses, both designed by Robert Trent Jones, another top option is Salem Glen, a public/private course designed by Jack Nicklaus’ team, featuring a links-style front nine and wooded back nine along the Yadkin River. Nearby in Advance, the Arnold Palmer-design Oak Valley offers sparkling water features and strategic risk-reward holes suited to all skill levels.

Stroll the Village Point Greenway
This mile-long loop circles Village Point Lake, crossing smooth boardwalks and bridges through peaceful scenery. In addition to being a great place for a relaxing walk, the Village Point Greenway is also a great spot for fishing, with a wheelchair-accessible fishing pier providing year-round access to stocked waters.

Stop by the Clemmons Mill
Opened since 1920, this historic feed and seed mill is Clemmons’ oldest business. Its brick walls and timber beams hold layers of local lore, including stories of German POWs who helped expand the site in the 1940s. Today, visitors to the the Clemmons Mill stop in for pet supplies, garden goods, snacks, and conversation. As the old sign promises, “Advice is free at Clemmons Mill.”

Visit the Clemmons Farmers Market (Seasonal)
Held on Saturdays, May through September, outside the Jerry Long Family YMCA, the Clemmons Farmers Market features more than 60 growers, bakers, and artisans. Shop fresh produce, meats, flowers, and handmade goods, and mark your calendar for the annual Holiday Pop-Up in November.
