Discover Local Shopping Favorites in the Stratford Road Shopping District

From major retailers to local favorites, discover one-of-a-kind shopping in Winston-Salem's Stratford Road Shopping District.

With a wide mix of shops and restaurants, the Stratford Road Shopping District is one of Winston-Salem’s busiest retail areas. Just five minutes west of downtown, it runs from the Five Points intersection where Stratford Road meets Country Club Road, West 1st Street, and Miller Street to the Hanes Mall area near Silas Creek Parkway.

Though only 1.5 miles long, this stretch is packed with plenty of shops to explore. While there are many nationally known retailers along Stratford Road, the real fun is discovering the local gems. You’ll find everything from an outdoor gear store and garden center to home decor shops and specialty teas. When it’s time for lunch, there are plenty of dining options here, including the original Krispy Kreme for dessert.

This list begins with the shops closest to downtown and moves outward as you go, so you can start on the east side of Stratford Road and work your way west. Along the way is one of Winston-Salem’s most popular shopping destinations, the Thruway Shopping Center, offering plenty of storefront parking, a wide variety of shops, things to do, and multiple restaurants.
