What to know about WSSU’s 2026 Homecoming Week, Nov. 1–7, from campus traditions and gameday details to where to stay, eat, and celebrate in Winston-Salem.
Homecoming at Winston-Salem State University is far more than a football game. It’s a weeklong return for alumni, students, families, and friends, filled with campus traditions, performances, reunions, and plenty of Ram pride. The 2026 celebration, themed, Forever Red. Forever Ram, runs Nov. 1–7 and culminates in Saturday’s matchup against Fayetteville State at Bowman Gray Stadium.
This guide covers the biggest visitor-friendly events, need-to-know gameday details, and a selection of independently organized celebrations around town. It also points you toward places to stay, eat, and explore between events.

The evening builds toward the lighting of WSSU’s iconic sign at nightfall—a beloved tradition and high-energy sendoff into Homecoming Week. Admission is free.
