Nanu LaRosee taps into her experience as a librarian and a passionate amateur musician to form her approach to art making; using a combination of research and going where the ideas lead. La Rosee creates small to medium size pieces using acrylic or oil paint enhanced with collage, transfers and drawing.
Jessica Tefft loved hearing her grandmother talk about her magical angels. These angels helped with everyday things such as finding a parking spot, discovering the perfect place to eat, or offering comfort in hard moments. In this new series, Tefft introduces us to angels who assist with our daily struggles but also tackle larger concerns. They safeguard creatures, ideas, and fragile hopes that need protecting. To bring these divine spirits to life, she alternates between organic and digital processes, melding the two in richly layered collages that connect the mystical and the ordinary.
