The Balourdet Quartet opens the School of Music’s guest artist series with a dynamic evening of works for string quartet. The program features a mix of compositions by Beethoven, Ravel and Amy Beach, alongside a captivating recent work, “impossible inventions,” by contemporary composer Paul Novak. Each piece evokes vivid images of rustic life and nature, obscured in coloristic mirages and boundless sonic exploration.
