At the end of the trail, the Long Branch Trail intersects with the Salem Creek Greenway, offering the option to continue your journey through Winston-Salem.

This marks the official beginning of the trail, although currently there is no parking structure available at this entry point. There are multiple entry points for the trail. Parking can be found in various places downtown, including along Research Parkway, Bailey Park, and the parking deck located at the corner of 5th & Church streets.

Stop to take in the view as soon as you enter the trail, where the lush green landscape meets the urban sillouette of the city at Innovation Quarter.

Bailey Park + IQ

Mile 0.5

Exit the trail on 4th Street or 3rd Street and venture into downtown to enjoy the Innovation Quarter neighborhood. Sit down for a meal, frolic in Bailey Park, and grab a craft brew before continuing your trail journey.

Cross the Tresle Pedestrian Bridge and stop for a quick selfie with the iconic RJR smokestacks and the Innovation Quarter skyline. Bonus points if you're here at sunset!

Research Parkway

The trail intersects with Research Parkway, but this is far from the end of the trail system. Exit the trail here and make a right, following the sidewalk for approximately half a mile to connect to the Salem Creek Greenway.

Salem Creek Greenway Connection

Mile 1.7

The Salem Creek Greenway is a great connector in the Winston-Salem Trail system, running from Peter's Creek Parkway all the way to Salem Lake. Hop on the connecter here and take a left to navigate toward Old Salem Museums & Gardens or take a right and continue on toward Salem Lake and Quarry Park!
