About

Amid the upheaval of civil war in Congo, Pulitzer Prize-winning “Ruined” follows the formidable Mama Nadi, whose bar becomes a haven for women marked by violence, loss and survival. She must skillfully navigate violent power struggles while protecting those who rely on her courage and cunning.

Lynn Nottage’s Pulitzer Prize–winning play invites audiences inside Mama Nadi’s world, where every choice carries risk and every moment holds uncertainty. Directed by faculty member Cliff Odle, this gripping production explores resilience and the human cost of conflict. Harrowing, compassionate and impossible to dismiss, “Ruined” offers a theatrical experience that lingers well beyond the final scene.
